Atlanta Rhythm Section (ARS) is an American southern rock band formed in 1970 in Doraville, Georgia. Originally composed of former members of the groups Candymen and Classics IV, the lineup came together as a session group for the newly opened Studio One. Their sound, characterized by bluesy riffs, catchy melodies, and complex arrangements, led them to success in the 1970s with songs like "So Into You", "Imaginary Lover" and "Champagne Jam". ARS released 12 studio albums between 1974 and 1986, collaborating with prominent producers such as Barry Beckett and Ron Nevison. The band was influenced by artists like The Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd, contributing to defining the identity of American southern rock.
