It hurts to think
Can't get the sums together
Would you draw my bitterness
Make the pictures fade
Could it be that I see
What's beneath when we fall
The truth in ever
I'm scared that I'll be
The sentence is light
But my eyes see a different world
And all I do is turn into flames
Will time open my fault
New solutions, I'm begging
Break the fuse that holds me back
The I is lost in me
But I'm ready to give you
The "m", it might even be the "e"
As I begin to search for I
Distract, push me in another direction
This wall that I stare into
It's getting old
Give me faith to reach for the new
Pull me apart and do me all over
I'll need a re-make
To make up for my mistakes
What if I stop to care?
What if let you fall?
In Flames is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in Gothenburg in 1990. Considered pioneers of the Gothenburg sound, alongside fellow death metallurgists Dark Tranquillity and At The Gates, they have helped define this genre characterized by heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and often dark lyrics. The band has gone through several evolutionary phases throughout its career, moving from more brutal and underground sounds to a more modern and accessible sound for the general public. Among their most important albums are "The Jester Race" (1996), "Clayman" (1998) and "Reroute to Remain" (2006). In Flames has collaborated with numerous artists, including Michael Amott of Arch Enemy and Anders Fridén of Dark Tranquillity. Some of their most representative tracks are "Only for the Weak", "The Quiet Place", "Take This Life" and "Through My Eyes".
