The Pernice Brothers are an indie rock band formed in 1996 by Joe Pernice after the breakup of his previous band, the Scud Mountain Boys. The name comes from the surname of the Pernice brothers, who include Bob Pernice in the lineup. Their debut album, *Overcome by Happiness*, was released on Sub Pop in 1998. After a three-year hiatus during which Joe Pernice recorded under his own name and as Chappaquiddick Skyline, the Pernice Brothers returned in 2001 with *The World Won't End*. After parting ways with Sub Pop, the album was released on Pernice's own label, Ashmont Records, co-owned with his longtime manager Joyce Linehan. In 2003, Ashmont released *Yours, Mine and Ours*. Following a 2004 tour, the band released their first live album, *Nobody's Watching/Nobody's Listening*, in early 2005 and, in June of the same year, their fourth studio album, *Discover a Lovelier You*. Their fifth studio album, *Live a Little*, was released in October 2006. *Goodbye, Killer* followed in June 2010. Some of the band's most representative songs include *The World Won't End*, *Discover a Lovelier You*, and *Let Me Be Your Man*.
