Alvin Lee, born Graham Barnes on December 19, 1944, in Nottingham, England, was an English rock guitarist and singer. He began playing guitar at the age of 13 and with Leo Lyons formed the core of the band Ten Years After in 1960. Influenced by his parents' collection of jazz and blues records, it was the advent of rock and roll that truly sparked his interest and creativity, and guitarists like Chuck Berry and Scotty Moore provided his inspiration. With Ten Years After, Lee achieved international fame in the 1970s thanks to the success of their album "Live at Woodstock" (1970), which included the iconic performance of "I'm Going Home". His virtuoso guitar technique and blues-rock style made him a reference point for generations of musicians. Among Alvin Lee's most representative songs are also "Love Like a Man", "Going Home" and "Road to Ruin".
