Jim Croce (James Joseph Croce) was an American singer-songwriter born in Philadelphia on January 10, 1943. He tragically died in a plane crash on September 20, 1973, at the age of only 30. Croce rose to fame in the 1970s with his folk rock style characterized by realistic lyrics and catchy melodies.
