Enrico Macias, pseudonimo di Gaston Ghrenassia (1938), è un cantautore algerino naturalizzato francese, considerato uno dei più grandi interpreti della musica mediterranea. Nato ad Algeri da una famiglia ebrea sefardista, Macias ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '50, cantando in arabo e francese nei locali di Casablanca. Nel 1962 si trasferisce a Parigi, dove inizia a collaborare con importanti compositori come Jacques Brel e Charles Aznavour. Il suo successo internazionale arriva negli anni '70 con brani come "Il mio cuore", "La vie en rose" e "Les yeux noirs". Macias è noto per la sua voce calda e melodiosa, le sue canzoni romantiche e nostalgiche che evocano l'atmosfera del Mediterraneo. Oltre alla musica, Macias si è impegnato in attività filantropiche a favore della comunità ebraica algerina. Tra i suoi album più importanti ricordiamo "Enrico Macias" (1968) e "Les yeux noirs" (1973).
