Bauhaus è un gruppo musicale britannico considerato uno dei pionieri del genere goth rock. Fondato nel 1978 a Northampton, l'originale formazione comprendeva Daniel Ash (chitarra), David J (basso), Kevin Haskins (batteria) e Peter Murphy (voce). Il loro primo singolo, «Bela Lugosi's Dead», pubblicato nel 1979, è considerato da molti il primo brano goth rock. La canzone, originariamente di oltre nove minuti, divenne un classico del genere nonostante non abbia mai raggiunto le classifiche britanniche.
