Gilles Servat is a French singer-songwriter born in Tarbes, southern France, in 1945. His family roots lie in the Nantes region of Brittany. Servat rose to fame in the 1970s with his folk-rock style, characterized by poetic lyrics and melancholic melodies. Among his most notable songs are "La fille du pêcheur", "Le vent du nord" and "Les chemins de l'amour". Servat has collaborated with numerous French artists, including Jean Ferrat and Alain Souchon. His music has been influenced by singer-songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Joan Baez.
