Disharmonic Orchestra is an Austrian death metal and grindcore band formed in Klagenfurt in 1987. The band recorded two demos before signing with Nuclear Blast in 1989, after a concert in Germany with Pungent Stench. The first result of this agreement was a split EP with their countrymen Pungent Stench. After releasing two studio albums for Nuclear Blast, they signed a new contract and released their third album on Steamhammer. Their albums present different sounds from each other. The band took a break in 1994 which lasted until 2002, when the debut album *Expositionsprophylaxe* was re-released. In the meantime, they recorded a new album titled *Ahead*.
