Johnny Hates Jazz is an English synth-pop band formed in London in 1986. The original trio consisted of Clark Datchler (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Calvin Hayes (keyboards, drums) and Mike Nocito (bass). Their sound, characterized by catchy melodies and introspective lyrics, quickly won over audiences in Britain and internationally. Their debut album, "Johnny Hates Jazz", released in 1987, was a success with singles like "Shattered Dreams" and "I Don't Want to Be a Hero".
