Bobby Darin, born Walden Robert Cassotto, was an American singer and actor of Italian-American descent. Born in New York City in 1936, Darin began his musical career in the 1950s, achieving success with songs like "Splish Splash" and "Mack the Knife". His music was characterized by a blend of pop, rock and roll, and jazz, often featuring witty lyrics and catchy melodies. Darin won a Grammy Award in 1960 for his rendition of "Beyond the Sea", which became one of his most iconic songs.
