The Tubes are an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1972. Their sound, characterized by a mix of hard rock, glam rock and theatrical elements, made them a cult band in the 1970s and 1980s. Their self-titled debut album in 1975 included the single "White Punks on Dope", which became an underground hit.
