Melancholy maybe

"I ask you to sing a nightsingin'

I want you to sing like people used to sing

I want you to sing like" "Big Audio Dynamite"

"They're like cockroaches all the time"

See that guy over there, he's as crazy as hell

Spending his time inside a wishing well

Gazing at water, saying what if I...

And he's still there gazing in six months time

He's got a girl that's crazy 'bout him

But her heart is locked away with him
He doesn't realise that he holds the key

To unlock the pain and set them free

But that's alright, a little melancholy maybe

That's a part of you see

On a one way ticket, headed to Nowheresville

I know 'cause I've already been

Heard about Sister Elly was a party girl

Now she've seen the troubles of a future world

Tellin' everybody when the bombs gonna drop

And she's packed in a job at the corner shop

She joined the church, help to get away

Now she sees the Lord every time she prays

Asks for forgiveness for all our sins

But when she sits down she doesn't know where to begin

But that's alright, a little melancholy maybe

That's a part of you see

On a one way ticket, headed to Nowheresville

I know 'cause I've already been

A little bit of la la la la love

A little bit of la la la la love

A little bit of la la la la love

A little bit of la la la la love

Where d'ya think you're goin'

You ain't goin' nowhere

Ain't no way of knowing

If you've not been there

But that's alright, a little melancholy maybe

That's a part of you see

On a one way ticketm headed to Nowheresville

I know 'cause I've already been

That's alright, a little melancholy maybe

That's a part of you see

On a one way ticket, headed for Nowheresville

I know 'cause I've already been

Yeah, I know 'cause I've already been

That's right, I know 'cause I've already been
