Paul Lorin Kantner (San Francisco, March 16, 1941 – San Rafael, January 28, 2016) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter considered one of the architects of psychedelic rock. Kantner is best known for being a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, with whom he achieved international success in the 1960s.
