Morbid was a Swedish death metal band formed in Stockholm in 1985 by Per Yngve Ohlin, known as Dead, who would later become the vocalist for Mayhem. Considered one of the first bands in the genre, Morbid deeply influenced the European black metal scene with its raw and primitive sound. Dead, a charismatic and controversial figure, stood out for his theatrical performances and the use of a guttural growl. The band released only one demo, "November Doom", in 1986, which contains tracks like "The Funeral" and "Deathmarch". Morbid disbanded in 1988 when Dead left the group to join Mayhem. Despite its short lifespan, Morbid left an indelible mark on the history of underground metal.
