Stone Temple Pilots are an American rock band formed in San Diego, California, in 1989. The band's core lineup consists of brothers Robert DeLeo on bass and Dean DeLeo on guitar, Eric Kretz on drums, and Scott Weiland on vocals. Their sound, characterized by heavy guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and Weiland's powerful voice, propelled them into the mainstream grunge scene of the 1990s. STP released six studio albums, including the multi-platinum "Purple" (1994) and "No. 4" (1999), which achieved international success.
