Richard Bona, pseudonimo di Bona Pinder Yayumayalolo, è un bassista e compositore camerunese nato nel 1967. Considerato uno dei migliori bassisti jazz al mondo, Bona ha una tecnica virtuosistica ed innovativa che fonde elementi del jazz, della musica africana e del funk. La sua carriera musicale è iniziata negli anni '80 in Camerun, dove ha collaborato con diversi artisti locali prima di trasferirsi in Francia nel 1992. In Europa, Bona ha lavorato con musicisti di fama internazionale come Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny e Salif Keita. Nel 1997 ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto, "Scenes from My Life", che ha ricevuto un grande successo critico. Da allora, Bona ha continuato a pubblicare album di successo e a collaborare con artisti provenienti da diverse culture musicali. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Bana Bana", "The Journey" e "African Dream".
