Morbo is a Mexican musical group specializing in electronica, synth pop, ambient and alternative rock, founded by Juan Carlos Lozano. Lozano was one of the four founding members of Moenia, with whom he sang on their 1997 debut album 'Moenia' and its 1998 remix album 'Moenia Mixes'. Despite the critical success of 'Moenia' in 1997 and the 1998 remix album, considered a bold innovation in the Mexican music industry, due to creative disagreements between Lozano, Jorge Soto and Alejandro 'Midi' Ortega about Moenia's future musical direction, Lozano decided to leave the group as vocalist. Original founding member Alfonso Pichardo returned to the role of lead singer. Lozano then formed Morbo, a project perhaps less commercially oriented but still synth-focused, with a greater presence of guitar. Morbo's musical vision materialized in 2001 with the self-titled album 'Morbo'.
