John Denver, born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. (1943-1997), was an American singer-songwriter and musician deeply rooted in the folk rock genre. Born in Roswell, New Mexico, Denver spent his childhood between Colorado and Arizona, influenced by the natural beauty of the American West, which often found inspiration in his songs.
