Gas Giants sono stati un gruppo rock pop proveniente da Tempe, Arizona. Formed nel 1997 come progetto successore dei Gin Blossoms, il gruppo era inizialmente noto come The Pharaohs. Dopo la fusione tra A and M Records e Universal Records, che portò al cambio di proprietà del gruppo, Gas Giants firmarono con Interscope Records. Nel 1999 pubblicarono l'album "From Beyond the Back Burner" su Atomic Pop Records. L'artwork dell'album è stato realizzato dall'artista di fumetti Geof Darrow. Il gruppo era composto da membri dei Gin Blossoms: Robin Wilson, Phillip Rhodes e Daniel Henzerling, insieme a Mickey Ferrel, precedentemente nei Grevious Angels. Henzerling era il batterista dei Gin Blossoms prima dell'attuale batterista, Phillip Rhodes. Nel 2000 hanno fatto tour con Train in supporto del loro unico singolo "Quitter".
