Zwan was a pop rock supergroup formed in late 2001 by Billy Corgan, lead singer and guitarist of the Smashing Pumpkins, alongside Jimmy Chamberlin (drums), also a member of the Smashing Pumpkins. The group was joined by David Pajo (guitar), former member of Slint, Tortoise, and solo artist, and Matt Sweeney. Later, Paz Lenchantin, formerly of A Perfect Circle, took over on bass. Their only album, *Mary Star of the Sea*, was released in 2003. A few months later, due to internal disputes and lack of commercial success, the band disbanded.
