Solitude Aeturnus è una band di doom metal statunitense formatasi ad Arlington, in Texas, nel 1987. Considerati pionieri del genere, hanno contribuito a definire il sound epico e malinconico che caratterizza il doom metal classico. La loro musica si distingue per atmosfere cupe, riff pesanti e melodie evocative, spesso accompagnate da testi introspettivi che esplorano temi di solitudine, morte e spiritualità. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Serpent's Curse", "Through the Eyes of a Dying Man" e "Into the Darkness". L'album di debutto, "Alone in the World", risale al 1990 e ha segnato l'inizio di una lunga carriera musicale caratterizzata da un sound sempre più maturo e complesso.
