Boz Scaggs, born William Royce Scaggs in Canton, Ohio, in 1946, is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. After beginning his career in the 1960s as a member of The Steve Miller Band, he embarked on a successful solo career in the 1970s and 1980s. Scaggs is known for his distinctive vocal style, guitar skills, and music that blends elements of blues, rock, soul, and jazz. Among his most important albums are *Silk Degrees* (1976), featuring the hit single *Lido Shuffle*, and *Middle Man* (1980).
