The Rascals, originally known as The Young Rascals, were an American white soul music group active from 1965 to 1972. Members of the band came together from different areas of New York state to form the original core. Their success is linked to a fusion of soul, rock and pop, also influenced by folk and rhythm and blues. Among their most famous songs are "Groovin'", "People Got to Be Free" and "A Beautiful Morning". The Rascals won a Grammy Award in 1968 for the song "A Beautiful Morning", ranking among the most popular bands of the 1960s. After disbanding, the members dedicated themselves to solo projects or collaborations with other artists. In 2012, the group reunited for some concerts in New York and New Jersey.
