Viola Valentino is an Italian singer, born in 1956. She began her musical career in the early 1970s as a model and singer. In 1979, she achieved national success with the single "Comprami", which sold a million copies in a few months. She followed up on the impact of the song with hits like "Sei una bomba", "Sera coi fiocchi" (1980) and "Giorno popolare" (1981). In 1982, she participated in the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Romantici", which became another great success. That same year, she acted in the film "Delitto sull'autostrada" alongside Tomas Milian, performing the song "Sola" featured on the soundtrack. Among her most important collaborators are Gianni Bella, Alberto Camerini, Grazia Di Michele, Maurizio Fabrizio, Dario Gay, Bruno Lauzi, Mario Lavezzi, Mogol, Oscar Prudente, Scialpi, Vincenzo Spampinato, Cristiano Malgioglio, Paolo Limiti and Giovanna Nocetti. She was married to Riccardo Fogli from 1970 until their separation in the early 1990s. In 2004, she celebrated her twenty-five years of career with the double compilation "Made in Virginia vol. 1 and vol. 2". Viola Valentino has always been committed to social issues, addressing topics such as violence against women in the 2010 album "I Tacchi di Giada" and the fight against homophobia with the single "Domani è un altro giorno", recorded in four languages: Italian, French, English and Spanish. In February 2019, the compilation "Le perle di Viola" was released, featuring new versions of her classic hits. In 2020 followed "E Sarà per sempre". Her thirteenth album, "Gratis", was released on October 27, 2023. From this autumn and until 2024, Viola Valentino will be touring with the show "Gratis Tour" throughout Italy.
