David Sylvian, pseudonimo di David Alan Batt, è un cantante, musicista e compositore britannico nato nel 1958. Noto per la sua voce eterea e il suo approccio sperimentale alla musica, ha raggiunto fama internazionale come frontman del gruppo new wave Japan negli anni '70 e '80. Dopo lo scioglimento della band, Sylvian ha intrapreso una carriera solista di grande successo, esplorando generi come art pop, avant-rock e ambient.
