Giancarlo Frigieri is an Italian singer-songwriter known for his indie folk music characterized by introspective lyrics and melancholic melodies. He began his musical career as a drummer for the Julie's Haircut and then as the leader of the Joe Leaman, before embarking on a solo career in 2006. He has released several albums for the Black Candy Records label, including "Close your eyes, think about beauty", a collaborative project with the Mosquitos titled "In Love" and a 7-inch single with Chris Eckman of the Walkabouts. In 2009 he launched his career in Italian with the album "L'età della ragione", winner of the Premio Italiano Musica Indipendente as best self-produced album. Frigieri is known for his independent production and collaborations with both Italian and international artists, including Giant Sand, J Mascis, Califone, Fairport Convention, Katamine, Dianogah, Modena City Ramblers, Nada, Offlaga Disco Pax, Le Luci Centrale Elettrica, Dente, Baustelle, Giardini di Mirò and Zen Circus. Among his most representative albums are "Chi ha rubato le strade ai bambini?" (2010) and "I SONNAMBULI" (2011).
