Eloy is a German progressive rock band active from 1969 to present. Their musical style blends elements of symphonic and space rock, with the latter theme more prevalent on early albums. Despite their nationality and time period, Eloy is not generally considered krautrock due to their sound, which has much in common with English progressive rock groups such as Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Yes. Among their most representative songs are "The Gates of Doom", "Ocean", "Beyond the Wall" and "Lady of the Lake". Their debut album "Eloy" (1971) is considered a landmark for German space rock.
