Born in Toulouse, France, Nougaro began his career as a jazz musician in the 1950s, collaborating with international artists such as Miles Davis and Chet Baker. Throughout the 1960s, he established himself as a songwriter, composing poetic lyrics and original melodies that captivated the French audience. His songs are characterized by a melancholic and nostalgic atmosphere, often focusing on themes of love, loss, and solitude. Among his most famous songs are "Les Feuilles Mortes", "La Chanson des Vieux Amants" and "Le Temps Passe". Nougaro released over 20 albums during his career, achieving numerous commercial successes and artistic accolades.
