Eric Victor Burdon (Newcastle upon Tyne, May 11, 1941) is a British singer known for his work in rock and roll, blues, and soul music. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist of The Animals from 1962 to 1966, contributing significantly to the sound of the British Invasion during the 1960s with their powerful blues-rock style.
