Robert Wyatt-Ellidge is a British musician born in 1947, known primarily as a drummer, singer, and composer. He is considered one of the pillars of the Canterbury scene, an underground movement that gave rise to a new form of progressive rock in the 1960s and 1970s. Wyatt entered music history as a founding member of Soft Machine, a group with whom he recorded the first four albums (1967-1971), contributing to defining the experimental and jazzy sound of progressive rock.
