Salvatore Antonio Gaetano, known as Rino Gaetano (1950-1971), was an Italian singer-songwriter considered one of the most important figures in the Italian music scene of the 1970s. Born in Palermo, he began his musical career in the 1960s with the group "I Ragazzi di Piazza", before embarking on a solo career in 1968. His music was characterized by a blend of progressive rock, songwriting and folk influences, often accompanied by ironic and satirical lyrics that addressed social and political issues. Among his most famous songs are "Azzurro", "Mio fratello è figlio unico", "Manifesto", "Senza una donna" and "Il cielo in una stanza". Gaetano left an indelible mark on Italian music, influencing generations of artists with his originality and social commitment. His life was tragically cut short by a car accident in 1971 at the age of only 21.
