Los Jaivas are a Chilean musical group formed in Santiago in 1963. Considered pioneers of Latin American progressive folk, they have managed to blend traditional Andean influences with rock and psychedelic elements. Their characteristic sound is recognizable for the use of traditional instruments such as the charango, zampogna and bombo, integrated with electric guitar, bass and drums.
