Tom Lehrer (Thomas Andrew Lehrer) was an American singer-songwriter, comedian, pianist, and mathematician born in New York City in 1920. Known for his humorous, often satirical songs with witty lyrics, he rose to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s. His songs, characterized by a fast tempo and catchy melodies, tackled controversial topics such as war, politics, and religion, always with a touch of irony and sarcasm.
