Samhain was an American musical group formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California. Considered pioneers of gothic rock and doom metal, they deeply influenced the horror punk genre. The band consisted of Glenn Danzig (vocals), Brian Baker (guitar), Lyle Preslar (bass) and Eerie Von (drums). Their music is characterized by dark atmospheres, dark lyrics and heavy riffs. After the dissolution of Samhain in 1984, Danzig founded the group The Misfits, while Baker became a member of Bad Religion.
