Billy Boyd is a Scottish actor and musician born on August 28, 1968. He is best known for his role as Peregrin "Pippin" Took in the film adaptations of *The Lord of the Rings* and as Barret Bonden in *Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World*. Besides acting, Boyd is a talented musician who has collaborated with several Scottish artists. He has also composed soundtracks for some films. Among his most representative songs are "The Road Goes Ever On" (in collaboration with other cast members from *The Lord of the Rings*), "The Last Goodbye", and "The Way We Were".
