Il nome del gruppo, slang per eroina o per medici disposti a prescrivere eccessivamente farmaci, deriva dal bluesman americano Willie Perryman (conosciuto anche come "Piano Red") che nel 1962 registrò la canzone "Dr Feel-Good" con il suo gruppo "Dr Feelgood and The Interns".
