The Red House Painters are an American alternative rock band formed in San Francisco in 1988 by singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek. Among their most representative songs are "Katy Song", "Grace Cathedral Park" and "Old Ramon's House". Kozelek has collaborated with other artists such as Joanna Newsom and The Decemberists. The band disbanded in 2001, but Kozelek continues to be active with solo projects.
