Two step

So we're leaving
Friends of mine, brothers and sisters
Hoping that in times of trouble
And that we can lean a bit more
But lately, I swear, nightmare dreams
Are welling in me
And this ship is troubled
All because this ship we're on is sinking...

Hey, my love, I came to you with best intentions
You laid down and gave to me just what I'm seeking
Oh say, my love, you drive me to distraction

Oh, my love, do you believe that we might last a thousand years
Or more if not for this,
Our flesh and blood
It ties you and me right up
Tie me... celebrate...

Celebrate we will
'Cause life is short but sweet for certain
Hey, we climb on two by two
To be sure these days continue
Things we cannot change

Oh, my love, you came to me like wine comes to this mouth
Grown tired of water all the time
You quench my heart and, love, you quench my mind
Let's celebrate

Celebrate we will
'Cause life is short but
Sweet for certain
Hey, we climb on two by two
To be sure these days continue
Things we can...
Right up, today
Celebrate we will
Oh, 'cause life is short but
Sweet for certain
We climb on two by two, to be sure
That all these days continue
Things we cannot change

Hey, my love, I came to you
With best intentions
You, you laid down and gave to me
Just what I'm seeking
Oh say, come on, let's celebrate with me

Celebrate we will
Oh, 'cause life is short
But sweet for certain
We climb on two by two
To be sure that all these days continue
Things we can...
Oh, yeah...

Oh, we climb on two by two
Oh no, just to be sure
That all these days continue

Biografia

Tom Fogerty (Thomas Richard Fogerty; Berkeley, November 9, 1941 – Scottsdale, September 6, 1990) was an American musician best known as the guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival. He was the elder brother of John Fogerty, the lead singer and guitarist of that band. Tom contributed significantly to the band's signature rock sound, characterized by bluesy riffs and country-rock arrangements. After the dissolution of Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1972, Tom embarked on a solo career with limited commercial success. Among his most notable albums are "Tom Fogerty" (1975) and "Exile on Cold Harbor" (1976). Although his solo career did not achieve the same level of fame as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Fogerty is remembered as an important musical talent and a key figure in American rock history. Some representative tracks include "Joyful Resurrection", "Swamp Rock", and "Long Dark Night".
