Biografia

Jean Ferrat, born Jean Tenenbaum (1930-2010), was one of the most beloved and influential French singer-songwriters of the 20th century. Born in Lyon to a Jewish family, his music always reflected a deep social and political commitment. After starting as a jazz musician, Ferrat dedicated himself to chanson in the 1960s, finding success with songs like "La Montagne" and "Auprès de mon arbre". His warm and powerful voice, accompanied by poetic and reflective lyrics, won over the French public. Ferrat addressed themes such as war, poverty, love, and freedom, becoming a symbol of resistance and hope for many. Among his most important albums are "L'Homme à la guitare" (1965) and "Le Chant du monde" (1970). His music continues to be appreciated and listened to in France and around the world.
