The Savas are an indie-rock band from the province of La Spezia, formed in 2003. The current lineup consists of Giovanni Menchelli (vocals and guitar), Simona Borghetti (bass) and Simone Franceschini (drums). Their sound, influenced by artists like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Verdena, Marlene Kuntz, Massimo Volume and Giardini di Mirò, is simply defined by them as rock. The Savas have released four self-produced EPs, achieving success in various music contests, including first place at Musicalmente 2007, third place at New Castle Sound 2005 and the Rock Jury Award at Pop Eye 2008. Their third EP, *Riflesso* (2007), was recorded with the collaboration of Toni Soddu, stage director of the Heineken Jammin Festival and Gods of Metal. In 2009 they signed an annual contract with the M and M label, which led to the re-release of the video "Una rosa rossa spietata".
