The Limeliters are an American folk music group formed in July 1959 by Lou Gottlieb (bass), Alex Hassilev (baritone) and Glenn Yarbrough (tenor). Active from 1959 to 1965, they achieved success with songs like "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" and "Greenfields", becoming a key reference point for the folk revival of the 1960s. After a sixteen-year hiatus, Yarbrough, Hassilev and Gottlieb reunited in 1981 to resume their activity as The Limeliters. Currently, the group continues to perform, although Hassilev, the last founding member active, has retired.
