Missing Persons is an American new wave and synth-rock band active from 1980 to 1986. Founded by guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, vocalist Dale Bozzio, and drummer Terry Bozzio (formerly of Frank Zappa's band), the group was completed by bassist Patrick O'Hearn and keyboardist Chuck Wild. Dale Bozzio's ethereal voice and her often sci-fi inspired stage makeup contributed to making Missing Persons a media phenomenon in the early 1980s. Their sound, characterized by melodic synth pop and catchy guitar riffs, placed them among the most innovative bands of the period. Among their most famous songs are "Walking in Memphis", "Words", and "Destination Unknown". Their self-titled debut album (1982) achieved commercial success, solidifying the group's popularity. After a second album, "The Missing Persons" (1984), the band disbanded in 1986.
