Kevin Ayers was an English singer-songwriter, guitarist, and bassist born in 1944. Considered one of the pillars of the Canterbury music scene, he deeply influenced international psychedelic and progressive music. Ayers distinguished himself for his solo works but was also a founding member of Soft Machine in the late 1960s.
