Pentangle is a British folk rock band active from 1967 to 1973, considered one of the pillars of English folk rock. The name, meaning "five-pointed star", refers to the five members of the original lineup: Bert Jansch (guitar and vocals), Danny Thompson (bass), Jacqui McShee (vocals), John Renbourn (guitar) and Terry Cox (drums). Pentangle's music blends elements of traditional folk, jazz and blues, creating a rich and complex sound.
