Selena (1971-1995), born Selena Quintanilla Pérez, was an American singer, dancer, fashion designer, model, and actress of Mexican descent. Considered the «Queen of Tex-Mex», she achieved extraordinary success in the 1990s with her musical style that blended elements of Latin music, pop, and country. Selena began performing at the age of 6 in her family band, Selena y Los Dinos. In 1989, she released the album *Dulce Amor*, which established her as a successful artist.
