Als je zoet bent komt er spoedig een zusje of een broertje bij

Wanneer er een klein zusje kwam krijgt zij van mij wat mooi`s zeg mam
Dan gaat m`n spaarpot open en krijgt die schatte bout
een boeketje witte rozen waar m`n mam ook zo van houd
Toen de ooievaar verwacht werd moest Jan met z`n tante mee
en hij werd daar voor een nachtje oh zo`n vrolijke loge
Voor `t geld uit Jantje`s spaarpot eerst wel tien keer nageteld
werd er in een bloemen winkel een heel lief boeket besteld
En s`nachts in z`n bed nog in zijn slaap zei dromend nog de kleine knaap
Straks gaat m`n spaarpot open en krijgt die schattebout

De andere morgen bij z`n thuis komst dacht Jan h wat vreemd vandaag
de gordijnen zijn gesloten ze zijn helemaal omlaag
snikkend sprak z`n vader Jantje nu heb je geen moesje meer
zij ging met je lieve zusje weg naar onze lieve heer
en zachtjes legde Jan `t boeket op `t dode zusje in `t bed
en wenend zij toen Jantje ik bracht witte roosjes mee
