I know someday I'll discover
One who will be my true lover
I'll tell her right from the start
If you want my heart
You know what you got to do
You got to work, work, work baby
You got to work, work, work baby
If I'm a hard lovin' daddy
You can be tall, short or fatty
You can be any ol' size
As long as you're wise
And you know what you gotta do
If I maintain my employment
You should supply the enjoyment
Long as I stay on the job
Your heart ought to throb
You know what you gotta do
If you want in on my money
Tell me I'm fine, call me honey
I'll give you shoes for your feet
And something to eat
But you know what you got to do
When I sit down on your sofa
You better be no loafer
I'll tell you now
There's no doubt -- you're lazy, you're out
And you know what you got to do
Royal Crown Revue is an American band formed in Los Angeles in 1989. Although often associated with the Swing Revival movement, their musical style transcends genres, blending influences of rockabilly, punk, jazz, blues and soul. Among their most representative songs are "Solitary Man" (a cover of Neil Diamond), "The Contender" and "Walking Like Brando". The band has achieved great success on the Vans Warped Tour, sharing the stage with artists like the B-52's and the Pretenders. They have also participated in major American jazz festivals. In 2010 they even recorded a special episode of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels", with Gene Simmons taking the reins of the band. Royal Crown Revue was founded by Eddie Nichols and Mando Dorame, passionate about roots music. Initially, the lineup included brothers Mark and Adam Stern, coming from the punk band Youth Brigade. After several tours with Youth Brigade, the Sterns left the band in the mid-90s. Today Royal Crown Revue is led by Eddie Nichols, Mando Dorame (tenor saxophone, arranger and composer), Scott Steen (trumpet) and Daniel Glass (drums). The band continues to attract large crowds in Australia, Europe and the United States.
