I Clan of Xymox, also known simply as Xymox, are a Dutch darkwave/gothic rock band formed in 1983 in Nijmegen by Ronny Moorings, Pieter Nooten and Anka Wolbert. The band has made significant contributions to the birth of the darkwave genre in the 1980s, characterized by dark atmospheres, symphonic melodies and introspective lyrics. Ronny Moorings is the only original member remaining in the current lineup. Over the years, Xymox has released a number of successful albums, including "Medusa" (1985), "Twist of Love" (1986) and "Age of Innocence" (1987). Their sound has evolved over time, incorporating elements of synthpop and post-punk. Some of their most representative songs include "Obsession", "A Million Miles Away" and "Blind Hearts". Xymox continues to record and perform worldwide, maintaining a loyal following of darkwave enthusiasts.
