Conway Twitty, stage name of Harold Lloyd Jenkins (1933-1993), was a legendary American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Born in Arkansas, he began his musical career in the 1950s as a rockabilly artist, achieving success with the group The Imperials. In 1965, after a brief foray into country music, he embraced the pop-country style that would make him famous.
